We’re currently looking for a Bike Sales & Rental Specialist to join our experienced and energetic team.
The Role
This position combines bike retail sales and rental operations, making it perfect for someone who loves working with riders of all levels—from visitors discovering Fernie’s trails for the first time to experienced locals upgrading their gear.
You’ll help customers find the right equipment, ensure rental guests have an amazing experience, and contribute to the welcoming atmosphere that makes GearHub a go-to stop for riders.
Key Responsibilities
Bike Sales & Customer Experience
- Deliver friendly, knowledgeable service to every customer
- Guide customers through the full bike and gear purchasing process
- Share your expertise on bikes, components, accessories, and riding gear
- Build strong relationships with both visitors and the local riding community
Rental Operations
- Assist customers with selecting and fitting rental bikes and equipment
- Provide clear explanations of bike features, trail recommendations, and safety basics
- Prepare, check-in, and check-out rental bikes efficiently
- Ensure rental gear is clean, organized, and ready for the next rider
- Work closely with the service team to maintain rental fleet readiness
Retail Operations
- Support front-line duties including POS transactions, sales, rentals, and consignment
- Complete opening and closing procedures
- Maintain organized displays and a welcoming sales floor
- Complete required paperwork and system entries accurately
Team Support
- Follow through on tasks assigned by management
- Help maintain daily task lists and store organization
- Work collaboratively with the sales and service teams to support store goals
What We’re Looking For
- Passion for mountain biking and the outdoor lifestyle
- Solid knowledge of mountain bikes, gear, and accessories
- Experience in bike shops, rentals, or outdoor retail preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail and rental environment
- Familiarity with the Fernie trail network is a strong asset
- Friendly, positive, and team-oriented attitude
