JC Fernier - General Manager
Jean-Christophe, JC for short, grew up in the suburbs of Paris. He first discovered Canada during a university exchange in 2006.
A few years later, after moving to the French Alps for his career, he created his own t-shirt company and studied bike and ski mechanics while skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking in the Alps every weekend.
At this point, he knew that the mountains would always be a part of his life. A couple of years ago, JC went on a 10-month World Tour, which ended in a month of exploring beautiful BC, and that’s when he discovered fantastic Fernie...
Jonathan Levesque - Owner/ Operator
Raised in the prairies, Jon now calls Fernie his home. While he’s still waiting for his official “Local” designation, in his heart, he knows this is where he was meant to be. A beautiful family, 25 years and counting in the IT industry, and a lifetime of searching for adventure, Jon knows he has the ingredients to help GearHub be the best sports store around!
Angelique Ouimet - eCommerce Manager
Though Angélique spent her childhood fishing and sailing the great lakes of Northern Ontario, mountain tops and alpine flowers have been pollinating her dreams since childhood. If she’s not in her food forest garden, she can be found splashing in the river, biking and hiking alpine landscapes (often outnumbered by dogs), xc-skiing, snowshoeing, making bread, and spreading peace and love to the mountain people of Fernie.

Faith is from rural Alberta and has a deep-rooted love for adventure, shaped by years of travel. Her journey took an exciting turn when she met her husband in Australia, leading her to British Columbia and eventually to the mountain town of Fernie. An avid runner and hiker, Faith thrives outdoors and spends as much time in nature as possible.

Haley Dolighan - eCommerce Listings
Haley moved from Vancouver Island to Fernie in 2007 with not much more than a snowboard and a dog, searching for legendary pow. Years later, she has traded the board for cross-country skis and a mountain bike. She's stoked to have found her way to the GearHub team in 2022, combining a love of outdoor activities with good vibes and good people.

Originally from Australia, Issy has spent the past six years living in British Columbia working in the outdoor industry. With a strong passion for skiing, biking, hiking, and camping, she also enjoys sharing her skills as a ski and bike instructor in her spare time.
Dylan Bailey - Senior Service Tech
Dylan started racing mountain bikes in the 90's back in his hometown of Thunder Bay, ON and hasn't looked back. After spending a few winters in Fernie back in '03/'04, he fell in love with this gem of a city and always wanted to return. In 2018 he finally made that dream come true, made the move out west and will forever call Fernie home.
Dylan has competed all over North America and raced at the elite level for years. He loves spending his time fat biking, snowboarding, nordic skiing, snowshoeing and playing hockey when the ground turns white.
Reid Western - Service Shop Supervisor
Born and raised in Calgary. Enjoyer of all genres of action sports and being outside. Will be found laughing and smiling outside.
Scott Nelson - eCommerce Specialist & Marketing
Born and raised in the prairies of Alberta, Scott spent most of his free time travelling to the mountains to climb up rocks, ski down even bigger rocks, and fly fish in the water in between the rocks. To cut down on the commute, Scott moved to Fernie in the summer of 2025. When Scott isn’t actively participating in mountain sports, you’ll find him behind his camera, directly adjacent to people participating in mountain sports taking photos and video of them.
Sebastien - Retail Associate
Hailing from Ottawa, ON, a self-described "winter creature", Seb spent almost a decade competing around Canada as a nordic ski racer. While in his undergrad he began his career as a treeplanter which introduced him to the mountain lifestyle. He made a vow to himself he'd make the move to the Rockies, and in 2023 he packed up the few things he had, and for the last time, drove across the country to Fernie! Seb is passionate about everything skiing. If he isn't skiing, he's probably nerding out about skiing, making music or behind the decks DJing.
Remi - Retail Associate
Originally from the southwest of France, Remi’s passion for the mountains and mountain sports began after he spent a few seasons in the French Alps (summer and winter), plus a winter in Japan. His next stop was Canada, where Fernie ticked all the boxes.
As much as Remi loves skiing, he is also an avid trail runner. Spending his first summer in Fernie truly sealed the deal—so he decided to stay :)
Louane Lauberton - Retail Associate & Rentals Specialist
Originally from the west coast of France, Louane worked in the Alps for the past five years, spending winters in the ski industry and summers shepherding and making cheese. She is passionate about the outdoors, ecology, and travel, and wanted to experience the Canadian mountains.
Nathan - Service Shop Technician
Nathan came from a small town in NE Queensland Australia, surrounded by coastal waters. He found his love for mountains through adventure racing, moving to Fernie to further his passion for all things mountains.
Nicki - Retail & Rentals Associate
Growing up in a family of nine children, Nicki spent her childhood immersed in the outdoors — skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, and diving were a natural part of daily life. Connecting with friends and family through these activities has always grounded her, and that love for nature continues to shape who she is today.
For as long as she can remember, Canada has been a place Nicki dreamed of calling home. After seven years of determination, that dream has finally become a reality. She brings that same sense of passion, perseverance, and curiosity into her work, along with a deep appreciation for the people and environments that inspire her.
