Erich LeidumsErich has built his lifestyle around skiing in Fernie, British Columbia, where winter adventures are one of his top priorities. He grew up skiing in Ontario and spending time outdoors, and that foundation has shaped how he's now raising my own family in the mountains. A core part of his skiing life now includes skiing alongside his wife and their three children. As a family, they spend significant time on snow together, generating lots of quality family time putting gear to the test. Erichs's kids ski hard, have fun and are becoming more and more skilled at using the whole mountain as their playground. Erich is the creator behind That Mountain Life, an outdoor family platform focused on mountain living, resilience, and raising capable, grounded kids. "We are stoked to be Gearhub ambassadors, sharing real-world experience and insight from a family that truly lives in its gear." |

Jake PlantJake Plant is a Calgary-based skier with roots in Nelson, BC, where steep terrain and deep winters helped shape his approach to the mountains. Inspired by ski icons Shane McConkey and Seth Morrison, Jake brings a style that blends creativity, power, and just enough recklessness to keep things exciting and unpredictable. He skis on the edge, always looking for new lines, unusual features, and ways to make big terrain feel playful. When he’s not skiing, Jake works as a firefighter, a job that mirrors his approach to skiing: calm under pressure, high-stakes environments, and team-oriented. That balance between discipline and risk shows up every time he points his skis downhill. Jake’s ski personality is best described as fun-loving and inventive, with a willingness to push the edge. He believes the best skiing happens when progression and fun go hand in hand. This season, Jake’s goals are to compete in a big mountain contest, complete an exciting, new film project, and not get hurt. |
